SCHOOL PORTRAITS • April 22-23
I am honored to have the opportunity to come back to Little Anchor to photograph this beautiful community! I love love love this art. It’s my hope to give you images of your child(ren) that honor their amazing childhood and also to be able to share updated images with friends and family near and far.
What is Fine Art School Photography?
This style of photography captures the genuine expressions of children. I use a simple black background, natural light, and a tight frame. My time with each child is light hearted - I aim for them to be comfortable so I can capture their essence in the images. We talk about animals and ice cream.
When is photo day?
Wednesday April 22: Portraits
Thursday April 23: Class Photos
Are siblings welcome?
This year I’ll photograph siblings that both go to Little Anchor.
What can I do to help my child get ready?
Talk to your child about photo day. What was photo day like when you were a kid? What will these pictures be for? What will happen at school on photo day? How do they feel about photo day? Here’s a little online flipbook I made to show what photo day will be like to share with you child.
What should my child wear?
While avoiding logos and solid black shirts, I recommend sending your child in clothes that make them (and you!) happy. Bold colors photograph really beautifully with the black backdrop but most importantly I want your child to feel like themself!
What should I do to prepare my child?
Please give wipe off your child’s face the morning of photo day - get their eyes clean so it’s easier to get them photo day clean when I photograph them. If kids have bangs, please consider trimming so that their eyes aren’t covered. And just tell them that the photographer Anela will get to talk to them about animals and it’ll be really fast then you’ll get to have special photos of them!
How will I order?
About a month after photo day, you'll receive an email with a link right back here to this page where I'll add all the details and link to your gallery. There will be 2-5 images of every child both in black & white and color. You will then be able to order prints, gallery wraps, and digital downloads. The ordering process is simple and secure. The gallery will be open for just ~seven days so I can submit your print order selections and deliver them to your school for a quick turn around! See sample pricing here.
What if I miss photo day?
I will be hosting a pop up photo day at my home in the front yard on Saturday, May 23. You can sign up here for a slot if you miss photo day at Little Anchor or if you have kids that don’t attend Little Anchor that you’d like to get photographed.
Will my photos remain private?
You and your child's privacy is very important to me. Your child's images will be organized on the private proofing website by class and you will receive a special password for the school. If you would like your child’s individual album to have a private password, please let me know by emailing me at hello@aneladeisler.com by Friday, April 25. When your gallery is ready, I'll link a privacy form to it so you can let me know if I can share your images.
