FINE ART SCHOOL PORTRAITS • April 1-2

I am honored to have the opportunity to come Portage Bay to photograph this beautiful community! I love this art. It’s my hope to give you images of your child(ren) that honor their amazing childhood and also to be able to share updated images with friends and family near and far.

What is Fine Art School Photography?
This style of photography captures the genuine expressions of children. I use a simple black background and natural light to highlight your beautiful child. My time with each child is light hearted - I aim for them to be comfortable so I can capture their essence in the images. We talk about animals and ice cream. I don’t force a smile!

When is picture day?
Wednesday, April 1: Siblings and Individual photos

Thursday, April 2: Class Photos (these are taken outside so we’ll reschedule if there’s rain)

Are siblings welcome?
If you have multiple kids at the children’s center, we’ll try our best to photograph them together!

What can I do to help my child get ready?
Talk to your child about photo day. What was photo day like when you were a kid? What will these pictures be for? What will happen at school on photo day? How do they feel about photo day? Here’s a little online flipbook I made to show what photo day will be like to share with you child.

What should my child wear?
While avoiding logos and solid black shirts, I recommend sending your child in clothes that make them (and you!) happy. Bold colors photograph really beautifully with the black backdrop but most importantly I want your child to feel like themself!

Who will be photographing my kid?
Either me, Anela! Or my good friend, the talented Chelsea Macor. We’ll also have our assistant Corrin there to help wipe faces and to make it’s quick and easy so the kids can get back to creating and playing.

How will I order?
About a month after photo day, you'll receive an email with a link right back here to this page where I'll add all the details and link to your gallery.  There will be 2-5 images of every child both in black & white and color. You will then be able to order prints, gallery wraps, and digital downloads.  The ordering process is simple and secure. The gallery will be open for just ~seven days so I can submit your print order selections and deliver them to your school for a quick turn around!  See sample pricing here.

What if I miss photo day?
I will be hosting a pop up photo day at my home in my front yard open garage studio on Saturday, May 23. You can sign up here for a slot if you miss photo day at Portage Bay, or if you have kids that don’t attend Portage Bay that you’d like to get photographed.

Will my photos remain private?
You and your child's privacy is very important to me.  Your child's images will be organized on the private proofing website by class and you will receive a special password for your class.  If you would like your child’s individual album to have a private password, please let me know by emailing me at hello@aneladeisler.com by April 1.  When your gallery is ready, I'll link a privacy form.
