School Art Contest!

WHAT: A contest to create new art for the gallery covers for school photos!

WHO: Any kid ages 0-12

WHEN: Art is due July 15, 2026 and will be used in the 2026-27 school year and maybe longer!

WHY? Because school photos are for kids so I want to celebrate their creativity!

PRIZE: The artist (child) will get a gift with art supplies in the mail from me! Their family will receive a free digital gallery next year. If I don’t photograph at your school, it’s no problem! I offer photos out of my garage “studio” every spring.

DETAILS:

  • Art must cover a full 8.5×11 (or similar) piece of paper. The only white space should be intentional. Abstract works best.

  • You can email me a scan or photo of their art to hello@aneladeisler.com. Please include their name and age. I will only share their first names.

  • All submissions will be shared and celebrated on my website, instagram, newsletter, and of course on the galleries!

Here’s the current art that I use at my non forest schools and was made at a preschool that I photograph at every year!

I’m always looking for input….

I’m working on writing a course to teach photographers how to understand kids so they can create family photo sessions that feel more connected, more joyful, and more meaningful for everyone involved. If you’re willing to interview your kids either on paper, audio, or camera asking these 5 questions, please email me at hello@aneladeisler.com.

  1. What makes taking pictures fun?

  2. What makes an adult feel safe?

  3. What makes picture day hard?

  4. What do photographers do that you don't like?

  5. What should photographers know about kids?

THANK YOU!
