Every child experiences picture day differently.
In my few minutes with your child, I try my best to help them feel comfortable, even in this unique setting with a new person. My goal is to create photos that really show your child as they are, in this beautiful, special stage of childhood.
The staff at Willow Creek were so helpful and comforting to your children. It's such a special place, and such a joy to work with this wonderful school. What a beautiful place for kids to grow.

BEHIND THE CAMERA
Hi, I’m Anela
Mother, teacher, photographer.
I spent eight years teaching and have stayed connected to classrooms since 2008. I hold a master's in teaching, I'm a National Board Certified teacher, and I co-teach in our cooperative preschool. So picture day, to me, is about the kid in front of me, not the perfect pose.
I believe kids are good, and every one of them is different. A wiggle, a frown, or a hard no is just a child telling me something, and my job is to listen. I want every child to leave their quick photo day feeling seen, and every family to open their gallery and adore their images.

You are deep in parenthood, I remember this time…and am in it again. As a mom of preteens (and a toddler), I can’t seem to hold on tight enough to those sweet (chaotic, unpredictable) days when my kids were at the ages yours are now. This is why I love photography with families and why I’d love to photography your child(ren) again WITH YOU!
On November 28 I'm offering short studio sessions with the same clean, timeless feel as your school portraits, this time with siblings, grown-ups, and anyone else you love. Just in time for holiday cards. If you have siblings that don’t go to Willow Creek, I’m also offering a handful of school style quick sessions for kids!
